Get an overdraft

The facility is available on application, for Platinum Lifestyle Account customers.

The benefits

  • An overdraft is a short-term financial solution ideal for covering unforeseen expenses
  • There is no minimum monthly repayment required, as long as you remain within your agreed limit and make regular deposits (such as your salary) into your Platinum Lifestyle Account every month
  • An overdraft is a fluctuating facility which reduces with your monthly deposits, and is immediately available again, up to the approved limit
  • Your overdraft will be reviewed on an annual basis
  • Credit fees will be provided upon application

The cost

  • Interest is charged monthly on your overdraft balance
  • The interest rate will be calculated for you, once your application has been submitted
  • The amount you qualify for, as well as the interest rate, will depend on your credit profile
  • You only pay interest on the amount you use, for the period it is used

You may deposit funds and make withdrawals by making transfers to your transactional account online or at an FNB ATM. With the Savings Pocket you are not required to give notice on the account to withdraw the funds or to deposit funds.

Transfers into your Savings Pocket can be made via an FNB branch, ATM, Cellphone Banking, FNB Online Banking or the FNB App. Balances and transfers out into a linked account can be made via Online Banking and at an FNB ATM.

You can link your Savings Pocket to automatically transfer savings from your lifestyle account to the Savings Pocket whenever you swipe, thereby saving leftover change via our Bank Your Change® offering. The amount saved is the rounded up amount to the nearest Namibian Dollar.

You have the option to add a top up (N$2, N$5, N$10, N$20 and N$50).

No fees charged for free inter-linked Savings Pocket inter-account transfer to other accounts.
