Do I need fire cover?

Fire cover is compulsory and underwritten by OUTsurance or FNB Insurance Brokers. You also have the option to arrange your own insurance and cede policy to the Bank. The annual fire cover premium can be debited against the EasyBond home loan account.

Do I need life insurance?

This is included in the bond for up to N$750 000. Applicants who apply for a bigger bond than N$750 000 will be required to have a medical examination done

When do I start paying?

This depends on the date of registration of transfer of the property into your name. If the bond is registered within the first 15 days of any month, the first payment will be due and payable at the end of that month. If the bond is registered after the 15th day of any month, the first payment will then be due at the end of the following month.

Qualifying criteria

  1. If you earn a gross monthly income (before deductions) of N$3 500 to N$35 000 you may apply. Combined gross monthly incomes of N$35 000 can also qualify
  2. To apply for this home loan, you must be a Namibian resident
  3. This loan applies to first time homeowners only
  4. You must have a bank account that is conducted satisfactorily
  5. You must have a clean ITC record
  6. Your monthly repayments cannot be more than 35% of the gross monthly income (individual or combined)

  • Valid ID or passport
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Divorce order (if applicable)
  • Antenuptial Contract (ANC) if you are married out of community
  • Latest payslip to serve as proof of your income (and that of your spouse if applicable)
  • 3 months' bank statements (if you do not bank with FNB)
  • Government booklet with qualifying amount
  • Property details (signed Offer to Purchase)
